b. Honorary memberships - Lu Chaney and Reuben Chapman might be good people to offer honorary membership to.
c. November annual meeting, Programs, directors election, nominating committee. Need a nominating committee of two members - Rebecca volunteered. Bob Kr would like some kind of program for the annual meeting, Ken will check on reserving the AA Community center for the first Thursday in November. b. Education/Outreach - Rebecca suggested possibly handing out rewards for bike-positive organizations or actions.
c. Jane Kent from WATS - the SEMCOG map is available for review at the WATS office, AA Parks and Rec office, WCRC office. Map includes volume information and some information about type of existing facilities if there are any. Comments need to be made by around the 20th so that organizations can get comments in by the end of the month.
Jane would like critical review in the next week of a set of three brochures WATS has produced to explain the rights, rules, and safety aspects of auto, bike, and ped travel.
WATS is working with Sustainable Washtenaw to ensure that biking and walking are included in plans. The new WATS transportation model should be done in the next month.
Greenways - Railtrail in Ypsilanti may shift back to the path that was originally planned.
-Path from Dixboro to Ford Lake is progressing.
-Dixboro bridge project should start in the Spring.
- Next WATS newsletter comes out in October.
-Jane will look into funding opportunities.
-WATS is starting work on the next long-range plan
d. Non-motorized coordinators

-Now that students are back Rebecca & Bruce will look into a student group that we can work with to get a UM non-motorized coordinator.
-Bob Kr will check with the LAB to see what information they can provide.
e. AA Bicycle Law enforcement - The ticket was canceled. The ruling is good for State cyclists, but may be a step backwards for AA cyclists. The bike committee will be meeting with the AA Police Chief next week to discuss avoiding this problem in the future. Street Smarts is supposedly going through City Departments. A number of council members are interested in working on the issue as well.
f. 2002 elections - Kris is working on a questionnaire for the elections.
g. AABTS Safety committee meeting
The meeting was held. We don't have minutes for the meeting. Cyclists have
been hit a number of times in the past few months in the rest of the county.
Bruce checked with the AA police bicycle squad and found that it is relatively
easy ($50 or so) for a police officer to become an LCI. Bruce also was told
that the LAB sometimes arranges for people to take both the road1 course and
become certified as an instructor in a few days.
h. SEMCOG bike map meeting was covered under 'C'.
i. Greenways advisory meeting - discussed some under item C.
