   1. Frank updated us on his work on letters for the election. 39 letters
went out to local office candidates, we got two back so far. Don

   2. Non-Motorized Projects - University of Michigan - Met with Sue Gott and
other people (See writeup that Bruce Fields sent to the WBWC email list.)
The writeup will also be in the upcoming newsletter. One suprising
problem, while the University representatives were planning to add a
nonmotorized coordinator position and add bike parking in parking decks,
they were quite surprised at the suggestion that bikes and cars could use
   the same entrances.

   3. Huron River Drive (Nieters) - Jim has coordinated with some other
   interested groups on this project.

   4. Walking School Bus 2004 school year (Hritz, Bentley-Goenka) - Walk to
School day was this past week. Brenda wrote an "Other Voices" article that
was published in the Sunday October 3rd Ann Arbor News.

   5. Bike to Work Week - A few weeks ago, Kris met with Erica of the
Getdowntown Program and Neille who coordinated last year's program. Erica
announced that she had received a $6000 energy grant from the State to
   support a month's effort.

   6. Krista McDermott and Riin Gill will be holding their winter biking
presentations. Details to be announced later.

   7. A steering committee has been formed for a County Non-motorized
transportation plan. Jack VanDyke is on the steering committee.

   8. PROS Plan meeting. There was a meeting this past week on the PROS plan
renewal. Kris attended and pointed out the need for more connected
   facilities and bike parking.

   C. Upcoming Events

    4. Redesigned membership brochure with new rates, business cards, new
       logo design

    5. Info table improvements - no update

    6. Jim Neiters showed a possible give-away item - a reflector designed to
hang off of backpacks or other items that we could probably buy for
       around $.25 each.
